Task Force requests transcribed interviews with local law enforcement, additional documents

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- On Tuesday, the Task Force on the Attempted Assassination of Donald J. Trump Chairman Mike Kelly (R-Pa.) and Ranking Member Jason Crow (D-Colo.) sent five letters to local law enforcement and local officials requesting transcribed interviews and additional information related to the attempted assassination of Donald Trump. The letters seek all documents and communications related to the Trump rally held on July 13, 2024, including planning, participation, and post-event actions and correspondence.
The letters include requests to the Butler Township (Pa.) Police Department, the Butler County (Pa.) Sheriff’s Department, and both the Butler County (Pa.) and Beaver County (Pa.) Emergency Services Units (ESUs) for transcribed interviews as part of the next step in the Task Force’s investigation. A letter was also sent to Butler County, Pa. Coroner William Young and Allegheny County, Pa. Coroner Ariel Goldschmidt, requesting the coroner’s report and autopsy for Thomas Matthew Crooks. The Task Force is seeking the interviews no later than September 30, 2024.
