Task Force Requests Documents and Interviews from FBI in Ongoing Investigation of Attempted Assassination of Donald J. Trump

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Task Force on the Attempted Assassination of Donald J. Trump Chairman Mike Kelly (R-Pa.) and Ranking Member Jason Crow (D-Co.) requested documents and interviews from the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation regarding the attempted assassination of Donald J. Trump on July 13, 2024, in Butler, Pennsylvania.

The Task Force has requested all documents and/or transcripts of witness interviews related to the July 13 event. This includes, but is not limited to, interviews with the following witnesses or those associated with the agencies, entities, and individuals listed below:

●     United States Secret Service
●     State and local law enforcement, including Butler County Sheriff’s Office, Butler Township Police Department, Butler County Emergency Services Unit, Beaver County Emergency Services Unit, Washington County Emergency Services Unit, and the Pennsylvania State Police.
●     Former President Donald J. Trump and Donald J. Trump for President 2024 Inc.
●     Thomas Matthew Crooks’ immediate family
●     Clairton Sportsmen’s Club owners and customers.

The Task Force has requested to receive the information no later than September 24, 2024.

In the letter, the Task Force also requests a log and copies of all evidence the FBI has obtained related to the July 13 event and Thomas Matthew Crooks, including videos, recordings, and other relevant information.

Additionally, the Task Force is requesting a member-level briefing on the September 15, 2024 assassination attempt of former President Trump, no later than September 20, 2024.
