Task Force Sends a Follow-Up Letter to ATF Requesting Information Related to Trump Assassination Attempts

November 6, 2024

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Task Force on the Attempted Assassination of Donald J. Trump Chairman Mike Kelly (R-Pa.) and Ranking Member Jason Crow (D-Colo.) sent a second letter to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), addressing the agency’s failure to schedule transcribed interviews with the Task Force and produce requested documents.

The Task Force’s initial letter to ATF on October 3, requested documents, materials, and transcribed interviews with ATF agents who provided support or response functions in connection to the attempted assassination of former President Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, and West Palm Beach, Florida. ATF replied to the initial letter on October 22 with a brief narrative response that did not satisfy the Task Force's request.

The second letter to ATF Director Steven Dettelbach and Acting Assistant Director Ann Vallandingham requests an initial production of documents and dates for interviews with key employees no later than November 13, 2024.
